| View in browser Newsletter, October 2025 Dear friends,   While recently traveling through Ghana visiting various MissionInvest projects, the extraordinary hospitality of the Ghanaian people was one of highlights of the trip! What made the strongest impression on me was the way different tribes and religions live peacefully together. Muslims and Christians live side-by-side, treat each other with respect, and openly and calmly discuss their beliefs.   How incredibly disturbing that in our Western society, such calm respect is often so hard to find. The sudden and horrific death of Charlie Kirk, a brother in Christ, shows that religious persecution is also very close to home. His passion as a follower of Jesus, his courage, and his respectful yet powerful way of debating remain an inspiring example for all of us to follow! His death reminds us of all the many brothers and sisters, especially in Africa and Asia, who are also being brutally silenced for their faith. They, too, urgently need our support, and MissionInvest continues to stand with them!   This newsletter features several inspiring Kingdom projects that have been developed in a highly sustainable way while making a significant difference for the local communities. Our driving force remains, at the deepest level, the expansion of God’s Kingdom!   We invite you to join us and partner in making this mission a reality!   See you soon! Wim Hasselman President MissionInvest USA  See all Kingdom projects! Looking forward to seeing you!  Here's the itinerary for my next trip to Grand Rapids, Dallas, Lubbock, Midland and Houston from October 27 - November 7. I'd love to get together for coffee or lunch! Doors open when like-minded people connect. Please take a look at my schedule below and let me know what time is most convenient for you to get together! Opening The Queen of Sheba Maternity Clinic in Ghana Seriously, seeing is believing! You’ve got to take just 90 seconds. These pictures say more than a thousand words ever could! Saturday, September 20th, we had the privilege of attending the opening of the Queen of Sheba Maternity Clinic in an extremely poor region of northern Ghana. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime celebration! Nearly 500 people attended including high-ranking local tribal chiefs and government officials. Even the Viceroy of Gushegu (the area where the clinic is located) came with full entourage taking his royal place on a great throne prepared for him. Truly amazing to witness!   In the many speeches that were given, grateful appreciation was expressed for the addition of the new clinic. This large, 14-bed clinic is exceptionally designed and built to the highest standards which is apparent everywhere you look! This is due to, in large part, the overseer, Peter Langenberg, who daily guided the Ghanaian team of construction workers. It’s a job very well done and all for the relatively modest sum of $400,000.   In the next two months, the facility will receive the finishing touches, including some equipment installation, landscaping, and paving. For this final stage, $50,000 is still needed. Please help us complete this breathtaking, life-saving project! More about the Maternity Clinic Ghana This church is being built in Ghana! A small church in the shape of a cross is being built on these same clinic grounds, as well. This is incredible in an area where the large majority of the population is Muslim with many mosques being put up in the area at the same time. That’s exactly why it’s SO CRUCIAL that this church is built as well! As Christians, each of us belong to the worldwide body of Christ. Let’s ensure that our brothers and sisters in Christ have their own church to worship in as a great testimony of God’s faithfulness to them! The entire construction cost of this church is only $50,000. Would you please consider sponsoring part — or even the whole —project? This project is also perfectly suited for a visit from your church’s mission team. An unforgettable experience. Guaranteed! Help build a new church in Ghana “NGOs are our biggest enemies!”  -  Water4 in Ghana While in Ghana, we visited four MissionInvest partners including Water4 in Tamale. They expertly combine their Christian mission with a business approach in a truly remarkable way!   Small-scale water companies, named NUMA, already provide nearly 1 MILLION people in Ghana with filtered water! Users do have to pay for it because, after all, good, clean water is not free! The fees collected are relatively low, but because of the large numbers, a profitable business model has emerged (the “Bottom of the Pyramid” concept). These fees provide maintenance as well as preventive servicing of the NUMA installations including biweekly water quality checks ensuring that everything remains clean and well-maintained. We were really impressed seeing such a well-run example of Christian entrepreneurship!   Ahmed (regional director) and Sylvester (Africa director) gave us a tour. I asked, “What is your biggest challenge?” Sylvester’s powerful answer was, “NGOs are our biggest enemy.” He went on to explain that NGOs have good intentions to help poor people receive free, clean water. This creates, however, the wrong mindset which is so destructive. People are not responsible for their own water and eventually become dependent on the system and cannot fend for themselves. There are countless examples of wells which are no longer functioning after even just a few years. In Sylvester’s perspective, many NGOs have a very limited view of the landscape in which they facilitate short-term projects. There is little or insufficient long-term vision for maintenance and financial sustainability which is crucial!   Let me tell you, I was already enthusiastic about Water4, but after seeing it with my own eyes, I could shout it from the rooftops! Astounding that Water4 has already had a sustainable impact on more than 1 million people! Even in the small village we were in, 2,000 people were already benefitting from just one NUMA installation while the waiting list for new connections just keeps growing! Will you help us expand this sustainable project even further? For this project in Tamale, another $50,000 is still needed.  Safe water in Northeast Ghana Help Christians in India boldly testify of Jesus, their Savior! Last November, I visited northern India and was deeply touched by brothers and sisters who fully dedicate their lives to Jesus, their Savior and Lord, while living in a dangerously hostile Hindu environment. Simple daily life is made very difficult for them. They are often threatened and sometimes even beaten, and, yet they continue to press on with courage! When I heard the shocking news that Charlie Kirk was brutally silenced for his outspoken faith, the courage of the Christians in northern India immediately came to mind, as well. Let us, encouraged by Charlie’s remarkable example, strengthen ourselves to stand boldly for our faith, as well! More than ever, please help persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ bear witness to the hope that is in us all!   MissionInvest supports small local churches in northern India through an organization that we cannot publicly disclose due to obvious safety threats. Don’t lose sight of this urgent project in northern India! Your prayers and financial support are indispensable and $47,000 is still needed for the rest of this year. Help persecuted Christians in India “Friends don’t let friends give cash” - NCF SMART GIVING  MissionInvest partners with National Christian Foundation (NCF) in order to provide ways for smart philanthropic giving. Brandon Lackey from NCF Houston says, “At National Christian Foundation, we like to say that ‘friends don’t let friends give cash.’” That’s simply because it's the most tax-efficient way to give appreciated assets. Non-cash giving can exponentially increase your generosity while maximizing tax benefits. Assets like appreciated stock, real estate, business interests, and even oil and gas royalties can all be used to fuel your giving in powerful ways.   In addition, many people just don’t know that the charitable capital generated from these gifts can also be invested in redemptive, for-profit ventures, as well. There is a growing movement of investors who strongly believe that for-profit ventures with a redemptive purpose can bring about Kingdom impact in some ways that traditional philanthropy cannot. Exciting, new pathways are emerging for using charitable capital to fund these mission-driven businesses.   Whether giving non-cash assets or investing charitable capital in redemptive  for-profit businesses, let NCF be your partner on the journey. The NCF website is full of information to start you on your way or feel free to contact MissionInvest!  Investigate the smart giving option!
