Newsletter, July 2025

Dear friends,

Our thoughts and sympathies are with all those who have been so devastated by the tragic flooding in Texas. My visits to the Lone Star State have shown me the deep strength, incredible resilience and Kingdom mentality that so many Texans possess. Let us all continue to support, encourage, and pray for everyone affected by the events of these last weeks.

Several weeks ago, I had another fantastic trip to the States. Following the board meeting in D.C., we went to New Jersey, Iowa and Michigan to meet with potential and existing donors. With over 30 appointments in two weeks’ time, we had quite a busy schedule! Our projects were very well received. We are thrilled to see that our hopes and plans align with many Americans and their companies' vision. It's also exciting to have appointed several local ambassadors who will voluntarily represent MissionInvest USA. I am so pleased with how the trip went and the progress we made, and I look forward to returning in October!

This newsletter includes a variety of stories including an impression of our first visit to Iowa, an array of interesting projects, a smart way to collaborate with Impact Foundation as well as a recommendation for the inspiring Stewards NOT Owners book.

We sincerely hope that this newsletter will encourage you to generously support the inspiring MissionInvest Kingdom projects.
In doing so, you not only help our neighbours in need, but also express gratitude to God who has so richly blessed us.

I wish you all a wonderful summer season! Be blessed to be a blessing!

See all Kingdom projects!
Iowa

MissionInvest is now on the field in Iowa!

It was an adventure that I hadn’t expected. Last week, I got the chance to visit Iowa for the first time after being invited by a business friend, Alex Hofman. I thoroughly enjoyed driving around Iowa with its vast open spaces and massive farms defining the rolling landscape. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be! No bustling megacities, but small towns, simple country roads, and endless distances. As a farmer’s son, I felt completely at home here.

In Sioux Center, Alex had arranged a dinner with several business friends where I shared MissionInvest’s story. We had a fantastic evening together, and one that will undoubtedly lead to more. We sowed seeds and look forward to a beautiful harvest in the coming months! Not only did the MissionInvest’s agricultural projects in Egypt, Ethiopia, and Rwanda resonate, but the missionary projects, as well. It’s clear that Iowa will also become a key focus for MissionInvest alongside Texas and Michigan.

Project - Clean water in rural Kenya

We all understand that safe drinking water and sanitation are basic needs. In rural Kenya, nearly half the population doesn’t have access to clean water which is severely impacting health and well-being in each community. Dorcas Kenya is addressing these challenges through the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program by facilitating clean water, proper sanitation and hygiene facilities for around 12,000 people located in Siaya County.

This program ensures reliable access to clean water, trains local youth and women in water management, and helps raise awareness about sanitation and hygiene. This tackles both water scarcity and also enhances community health while creating jobs for local youth and women. Not only does this initiative provide clean water and sanitation for 12,000 people, it creates 15 jobs and business opportunities and connects 5 schools to the water system benefiting 2,100 students.

A total of $50,000 is already secured. For 2025, the program still needs an additional $140,000 to meet its $190,000 budget.

Maternity Clinic Ghana-1

Project - Maternity Clinic Ghana: construction update

We’re happy to share a fantastic update! This video shows the building of the chapel where the gospel will be shared every morning and which is located alongside the clinic. This maternity clinic fills another huge need, namely, safer birthing, as well as prenatal, perinatal and newborn care. Too many moms and babies are dying before, during or shortly after birth in preventable deaths and this project will literally be a lifesaver! In September, I'm (Wim) going to North-Ghana to celebrate the clinic’s opening. Many local men and women are volunteering in building and doing everything they can to contribute. However, $50,000 is still needed to complete the buildings. Will you help us make this dream of saving the lives of so many moms and babies a reality?

Project -  Fight malaria by investing in Landcent with Impact Foundation!

Did you know that 600,000 people die from malaria every single year? Close to 70%, or 420,000, of these are babies and small children under the age of 5! Over the last several decades, millions of victims have lost the fight against malaria. Preventative resources such as mosquito nets and sprays along with medicine could have prevented these tragic losses! Since 2021, MissionInvest and Landcent Europe, a Christian-led organization, have been working together towards a world free of malaria. We are looking for $1M of strategic catalytic capital. This amount will be multiplied by 5 by European Crowdfunding! What an amazing opportunity to have massive impact!

Even better, for this specific project, Impact Foundation will be using the IRS’s Philanthropic Capital Program for your Donor Advised Fund for impact investment purposes! The amount invested is transferred to a personal account with Impact Foundation. On your behalf, as donor, they become an equity partner in Landcent. After a number of years and upon exit, the invested amount with potential capital gains will flow back into your donor account within Impact Foundation. The great benefit for you, as donor, is that your contribution is available again allowing you to invest in a new charitable project. Make your money work for good!

Each and every $250,000 has a lifelong impact on 1 million people in Africa! This means that $6M will impact 24 million people! Please join us in fighting malaria! Let’s eradicate this senseless disease together!

    Stewards NOT Owners

The joy of aligning your money with your faith! At the end of the day, we’re stewards! This book outlines how to discover your mission, purpose, and calling that God has given to you and urges you to invest in it which is exactly what MissionInvest stands for. Needless to say, it was amazing receiving this book from the author. When in Washington D.C., George Roller, a MissionInvest USA board member, and I had a great meeting with Dana Wichterman. Dana and her husband, Bill, recently wrote this book as a reflection of their personal journey as faith-driven investors.

This book inspires and challenges you to reflect as well as act. In the end, investing from a steward’s perspective offers more satisfaction and joy. Who wouldn’t want that?
