In March I was on my way to Uganda. I could follow the flight on the little map in front of me. High up in the sky, the whole world was passing by under us, country after country. I kept thinking....where in the world can we still find a place of complete peace, a place without violence, war or tensions? Right now, it seems nearly unthinkable that such a place still exists.
This is, however, what the Bible foretold. In the last days things won't improve, in fact, it'll be just the opposite. Just take a moment to read what the Bible says in Matthew 24. But this isn't the end, though! As Christians we can hold on to the fact that the best is yet to come. A total renewal. A new heaven and a new earth like God promises in Revelations 3. We can't even begin to fathom what it'll be like, but it will certainly be ALL that He has promised!
As believers we are called to tesitfy to this amazing and hopeful perspective! Love, hope and compassion – these are what our world needs now more than ever!
This is why MissionInvest is 100% committed to bringing missionary projects of hope to life! Will you join us?
Here's the itinerary for my next trip to Grand Rapids, Dallas, Lubbock, Midland and Houston from April 23 - May 7. I'd love to get together for coffee or lunch! Doors open when like-minded people connect. Please take a look at my schedule below and let me know what time is most convenient for you to get together!
Multiply your philanthropic capital - Invest in Landcent
Did you know that 600,000 people die from malaria every single year? Approximately 75% - or 460,000 - of these deaths are babies and young children under the age of five! Over the past decades, millions have lost their lives to a disease that is both preventable and treatable. Simple interventions such as mosquito nets, spatial emanators, and access to medicine could have saved many of these lives. Since 2021, MissionInvest and Landcent Europe, a Christian-led organization, have been working together towards a world free of malaria.
The total amount of funding needed is $10M. Thankfully, we have already secured $2.5M and we are in the process of obtaining another $5M before the end of April. This means, we're seeking the remaining $2.5M of strategic catalytic capital. This final portion will unlock significant impact and help save countless lives.
In addition, there's great news for this specific project! Impact Foundation will be using the IRS’s Philanthropic Capital Program for your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) for impact investment purposes! The amount invested is transferred to a personal account with Impact Foundation. On your behalf, as donor, they become an equity partner in Landcent. After a number of years and upon exit, your invested capital - including any potential gains - flows back into your donor account with Impact Foundation. The great benefit for you, as donor, is that your contribution is available again allowing you to invest in a new charitable project. Make your money work for good!
Each and every $250,000 has a lifelong impact on 2 million people in Africa! This means that a $10M investment can reach 80 million people! Please join us in fighting malaria! Let’s eradicate this senseless preventable disease together!
In Northern Ghana, the construction of the Queen of Sheba Maternity Clinic has been successfully completed! The medical staff is now being trained, so that quality health care can begin in April. Thankfully, MissionInvest has successfully raised a large portion of the funds needed! The clinic is located in an extremely impoverished area where mortality rates among mothers, babies, and young children are high while quality prenatal and maternity care is far from the norm.
With the completion of the Queen of Sheba Maternity Clinic, essential medical care is now made easy and accessible which will save thousands of lives in Northern Ghana! To see some of the construction process and training the staff is receiving, take a few minutes to watch the video linked in the picture!
As an amazing addition, a chapel is being built next to the clinic where daily services will be held. Right next to new life being born every day, the Source of Life, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, will also be easy to receive and fully accessible! This is exactly what MissionInvest is committed to - missional investing where we support projects that make a visible impact while also creating a ripple of hope! To make this chapel a reality, we are seeking funding for the final $50,000.
Did you know that solar panels can be a life-saving necessity? This is the case at Embangweni Mission Hospital in Malawi. The hospital plays a key role in providing regional healthcare to approximately 100,000 people. They depend on this hospital for a range of services including emergency care, surgeries, and obstetrics. Frequent and unpredictable power outages put these services and the quality of the healthcare under constant pressure. For surgeries, ventilation, and neonatal care alone this is critical and can have fatal consequences.
Thankfully, we've found a solution: 400 solar panels and sufficient battery capacity that will guarantee a consistent supply of electricity making patient care safe and stable. An extra benefit to using solar panels is that the diesel-fueled emergency generators can be eliminated which will save money and the environment! The funding which will then have been freed up will be invested in training medical personnel and improving patient care even further! A win-win situation!
Since 2020, MissionInvest has been partnering with Embangweni Hospital through the local NGO Malawi Mission Work Team (MMWT). In the last few years, the operating rooms along with the obstetrics ward have been renovated and the staff capacity has been improved as well. Now the focus is on funding "Power for Life". MMWT has already raised $300,000, and MissionInvest has been asked to find funding for the remaining $100,000. The goal is to have the solar panels fulfilling their crucial role by mid-2026. We warmly invite you partner with us and to give the power to save lives!
Recently, MissionInvest began partnering with Diaspora Ministries, a ministry committed to supporting new Somali believers in the Netherlands and Europe. Somalis who come to faith are often rejected by their muslim families and are frequently in great danger. Because of this, they keep their faith hidden resulting in heavy societal pressure and pervasive suspicion. Even though they have to meet in secret, Diaspora Ministries is still, through the grace of God, building new faith communities and providing sound teaching and pastoral guidance. They further aid the underground church through facilitating gatherings and helping organize the annual conference for Somali Christians in Europe.
In these foundational years, $35,000 of funding is needed. Through your generous support of Diaspora Ministries, you are contributing to building the Somali church worldwide. We are seeing that new Somali believers are bringing the Gospel back to their Muslim communities and even sharing with others back home! Together, we can create a ripple effect of Somalis coming to faith worldwide!
Just a few weeks ago we traveled with a group of donors and investors on a VisionTrip to Uganda. At MissionInvest, we believe in personal relationships and experiencing projects hands-on! The trip was a rich blend of nature, culture, and meaningful visits with the local church and fellow Christians in Uganda. Our FOCUS is to LEARN together from what we see and hear - to reflect as a group on what could be done better, and to develop a shared vision around a key question, What does truly sustainable impact look like?
Four incredibly diverse project visits made for an inspiring journey, ranging from entrepreneurial ventures to frontline mission work. A highlight was Ndugu Coffee. They are truly a remarkable team of people with a profound passion for improving the livelihoods of local coffee farmers. It was extraordinary to witness the entire process firsthand and see how they are already supporting 10,000 farmers — with plans to reach 20,000 within the next four years — helping them grow their income through sustainable coffee cultivation.
We also had the priviledge of flying with MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) to the remote north-eastern region of Karamoja where we visited Cees and Mirjam Molenaar, missionaries serving with Africa Inland Mission (AIM) among the Karamojong people. This area is the poorest region in Uganda, and, until just three years ago, was known for its instability and violence. Today, you see places that were once marked by darkness beginning to step into the light. There is openness to the Gospel. The love of Christ is genuinely transforming these local communities. On Sunday, we attended a church service under a large tree with around 150 people from the surrounding villageon the very ground where ancestors and local gods were once honored. Now, every Sunday, the clear and life-giving Gospel rings out! It was a profoundly moving experience!
In addition to all these unforgettable experiences, we were simply captivated by the stunning natural beauty of Uganda. It's no wonder the country is called "The Pearl of Africa." We returned to the Netherlands inspired, grateful, and with a strengthened vision for the work that God has set before us in serving the Kingdom of God.
