Many of you are aware that MissionInvest is a Dutch-American organization. While I live in the Netherlands, I travel to America three times a year to connect with those who share my heart for missions. I do this with immense pleasure. I love America and I love Americans. Why, you may ask? Well, you can read about that in my article, "Why I love Americans (and what we can learn from them)." This was published recently on Cvandaag, an online platform that is hugely popular among Christians in the Netherlands.
In this way, MissionInvest seeks to be a "bridge" between the Netherlands and the States because we, as Christians, desperately need each other! This doesn't just apply to us in the western world - Christians worldwide need each other! Together, we ARE the body of Christ which means caring for one another just like family. If one suffers, we all suffer. Where one lacks, another shares from out of their abundance.
That is the very reason why we use this newsletter to bring relevant and timely needs to your attention, so that you can contribute to a project that speaks to you specifically making you such a blessing to others! And what’s more is that many of those who we help don't even know who helped them. They simply give all thanks and glory to God for His powerful deliverance! He receives all praise and honor!
93% of your donation goes directly to the Kingdom projects!

Here's the itinerary for my next trip to Washington, Grand Rapids, Sioux Centre, and New York City from June 15 - June 26. I'd love to get together for coffee or lunch! Doors open when like-minded people connect. Please take a look at my schedule below and let me know what time is most convenient for you to get together!
Kingdom focus at The Lion’s Den
During my last trip to Texas at the end of April, I was able to attend The Lion’s Den DFW in Dallas once again. What a privilege to meet new people and to further build relationships at this amazing conference for the fourth time! Over the years, I’ve really begun to build friendships there which makes the conference feel much more like a reunion! Every single time, it’s so remarkable to see that all the participants have such a KINGDOM FOCUS which is exactly in line with our MissionInvest projects. With each of the 600 participants—philanthropists and impact investors—the tremendous faith connection is truly apparent. For me, it has become a place to encourage and be encouraged by like-minded individuals.
What made it even more exceptional this time was that I was able attend together with one of our largest partner organizations, Landcent Europe. It was fantastic to spend a few days with Arun Prabhu Stanley (founder of Landcent) and Justin Hays (CEO of Landcent). Landcent is a truly mission-driven company which effectively fights malaria through preventive product development impacting millions of people in Africa! MissionInvest has been able to secure nearly $10 million in investment capital for Landcent. At this time, we’re working on securing the final $3 million. Due to these significant investments, Landcent's products could be on the market as early as mid-2027!
What an opportunity at The Lion’s Den DFW, once again, to make so many wonderful and promising connections for which I am immensely grateful! Thanks be to God!
In Ethiopia, the BRIGHT projects treat people affected by leprosy allowing them to receive early treatment, fully recover, and productively participate in society once again. Partnering with local churches, this project carries out skin screenings, home visits and school awareness activities while delivering preventive medicines to vulnerable communities.
One of the numerous people who has been successfully treated through Bright Ethiopia is Mume. When he was identified during a local screening in January 2026, leprosy had already severely attacked his body and face. Due to the visible ravages of the disease, people in his village were afraid of him and kept their distance. Mume immediately started treatment after his diagnosis, and the results were remarkable in just two months! Today, Mume is filled with hope! As the damage from the disease disappeared, the fear and stigma in his community began to fade as well. People in his village have seen with their own eyes that leprosy can be treated successfully allowing Mume to regain not only his health, but also his connection and community!
Bright Ethiopia provides a simple solution to a problem that destroys not only lives but whole communities, as well. Partner with us to give a new reality to those who suffer from this horrible disease!
Ethiopian fuel crisis also affects MissionInvest partners!
The global fuel crisis these last few months has hit Ethiopia hard. The severe fuel shortage has considerably disrupted daily life. MissionInvest partner organizations are feeling these affects as well.
"Due to the shortage, transport costs have been significantly affected. As a result, food has become, in some instances, more than twice as expensive," explains Gerdien Marijs, field worker for Addis Alem Foundation. "The people we support actually need even more help now."
Because of the current situation, the foundation has had to temporarily suspend activities such as Bible school training in remote areas. Addis Alem has, thankfully, recently acquired an electric bus making the organization itself less dependent on fuel.
Beletshachew Tadesse, the Ethiopian Country Director of Leprosy Mission relays, "It’s a major challenge to reach people in remote areas while so many people with leprosy live in precisely those kinds of areas."
Director Hans Walhout of Interlakes International School describes how there were lines miles long at gas stations due to the fuel shortage. “Our school driver once sat in the bus for seven days and nights just to get the tank filled.” Teachers and students struggled to simply reach the school and many students were late. According to Walhout, prices continue to remain high even though the shortage has now been mostly resolved.
As MissionInvest we continue to support our local projects, both financially and spiritually. We pray for a rapid resolution to this crisis.
Update - Grain from the Desert
From barren desert to daily bread
In southern Egypt, thousands of Christian families struggle to survive due to rising food prices and falling incomes. And this is right where the Grain from the Desert project brings hope!
In 2023, together with the Nile Valley Foundation, we saw the first hopeful project become a successful reality: 50 acres of barren desert became fertile land! And today, the harvest of May, 2026, has been gathered in full force which is tangible proof that change is possible. The picture above shows the joy of the third succesful harvest from these fields. This project is now providing grain for hundreds of thousands of flatbreads and offering food security for approximately 1,000 poor Coptic families each year!
Driven by the huge impact this project has already had, we are looking to transform another 50 acres. The essential water well as well as sufficient solar energy are already in place. We are seeking to secure the needed funding before the summer begins so that we can start the transformation in September/October. Then we’ll be looking forward to another rich harvest as early as April of next year!
For this project, another $120.000 is needed! Your one-time investment will be a lasting blessing providing employment, restored dignity, and daily bread for many, many brothers and sisters in Christ. Will you build with us? Together we can turn barren deserts into abundant harvests making the love of Christ tangible in places where it’s needed the most!
In the beautiful country of Colombia, 50 years of civil war have left deep scars. There is a significant gap between the rich and the poor causing major social problems. One-third of the population lives below the poverty level. Many families experience domestic violence while also being confronted with issues such as addiction, gangs, and teenage pregnancies.
But there is hope. The Church, in particular, is willing and able to offer hope in Colombia. Since 2022, the GZB has been working with the “Hope for Colombia” project and seeing astounding results! They are focusing on planting new churches and guiding their progress while developing effective projects which reach the lost, teach new skills, and—most importantly—spread the love of the Lord Jesus. These are three main goals of this project:
Training and educating a new generation of strong leaders and pastors in local churches.
Assisting local churches in developing their vision of integral mission while identifying diaconal needs in their own environment and initiating diaconal projects.
Formingnew faith communities.
Your generous support is needed to continue building this project in a solid, effective manner and provide the resources the new churches need so that they can go out and reach the lost in their communities.
MissionInvest USA is seeking to raise $110,000 for this Kingdom Project. Partner with us to help raise a new generation in Colombia!
